This Privacy Policy explains how Attic ("we", "us", "our"), operated by adboio, LLC, collects, uses, and protects your information.

1. What Attic Is

Attic is a personal memory and note companion app that lets you save thoughts and recall them later.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following information depending on how you use Attic:

Account Information

(only if you choose to create an account)

  • Email address
  • Authentication provider (Apple / Google / email)
  • Internal user ID (UUID)

Attic can also be used without an account.

User Content

Stored securely in Supabase:

  • Notes you save
  • Voice recordings you choose to transcribe
  • AI recall history
  • Embeddings generated from your content

You control your content. If you delete your account, your content is permanently deleted.

Analytics & App Usage

We use PostHog to understand how people use Attic and improve the product. This may include:

  • Usage events
  • Crash information
  • App interactions
  • IP address (as collected by PostHog)

Data is not used for ads or tracking across apps.

3. How We Use AI

Attic uses OpenAI services for:

  • Speech transcription (Whisper)
  • Generating embeddings
  • Processing recall / question answering

We send your note content to OpenAI to provide these features.

We do not train our own AI models with your data.

4. How We Use Your Data

We use collected information to:

  • Operate and provide Attic
  • Recall and search your saved content
  • Improve app functionality
  • Maintain security and reliability
  • Handle subscriptions and account management
  • Respond to support requests

We do not:

  • Sell your data
  • Share your data for advertising
  • Track you across other apps or websites

5. Data Retention

We keep your data until you delete your account.

When you delete your account:

  • All notes
  • Embeddings
  • Account information

…are permanently deleted.

Historical analytics remain in PostHog but are not tied to an identifiable account.

6. Data Security

  • Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS)
  • Data is encrypted at rest
  • Stored securely in Supabase
  • Database access is limited to the developer of Attic
  • We take reasonable steps to protect your information

However, no system is 100% secure.

7. Payments

All purchases are handled by Apple In-App Purchase. We do not receive your payment card details.

Refunds follow Apple's refund policies.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

  • Access your data
  • Request deletion
  • Request a copy of your data

Currently export is handled manually upon request.

9. Children

Attic is not designed for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Third Parties We Use

  • Supabase (storage & authentication)
  • OpenAI (AI features)
  • PostHog (analytics)
  • RevenueCat (subscriptions)

We only share data with these services as required to operate Attic.

We do not sell your data.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If changes are significant, we will notify users in-app.
